Snow Valley Farms Inc. sells pure bred Black Angus cattle for individual clients of the farm. These clients are invited to a Family Day at the Farm. During that day on the farm the cattle owner/clients are invited to attend "Hamburger University" which is a class run by the Staff of Snow Valley Farms Inc. or the beef processing facility in Fergus Falls Minnesota.
The classes involve the care and feeding of the animals owned by the clients, the expected quantities, grades, and quality cuts available from each steer owned by our clients. A brief history of the cattle, the genetic structure, and veterinary history of the standard care plan are presented with the appropriate documentation.
During the class at "Hamburger University" the structure of cattle are discussed with suggestions as to the best use of the available products. Size of portions, thickness of steaks, packaging preferences, and dates of delivery are directed by the client/owners and any questions are answered by qualified staff.
The class is casual in nature generally being conducted in the machine barn with clients sitting on hay bales.
The class is used as a gathering spot to show the various forms of packaging from the freezers of Snow Valley Farms Inc. Portions, and storage options are demonstrated. A real hands on atmosphere is promoted so each client/owner has every opportunity to learn everything about the cattle they own.
