Each client of the Family Cattle Ownership program receives a periodic news letter which covers the activities of the farm, the key information regarding the cattle herd their steer is a member of, recipes suggested by the staff and community for cooking both beef and country style fare.
The news letter also covers from time to time the other elements of the Family Day at the Farm experience or event. Fishing is a common topic for many participating on the Snow Valley Farms Inc. property. We maintain three lakes for fishing and have an active and successful fishing day for all ages. Pan fish for young and Northern Pike, Bass, or Walleye for adults. We cover the hot spots the baits, and monitoring of the lakes which are all accessible directly from the farm.
Snow Valley Farms Inc. breeds and raises Percheron horses which are know as the "Gentle Giants" and news of births and progress are mentioned by many.
Donkeys are an important and interesting inclusion at the farm and children especially find them fun perhaps due their size and odd look, perhaps most of all because of their unusual sound. Donkeys also seem to naturally be drawn to children and to be very tolerant of the surprises children can bring. Pictures are often included for child oriented news.
The topics can include news of the vineyards, the orchard, the gardens, the fruits, vegetables, canning, cooking, flowers, or dozens of other areas of interests on the farm.
The new letter is available for client/owners and their families as a part of the Family Cattle Purchase Program.
